SECC Board Members Appointed to City of Chicago Boards and Commissions

SECC Board of Directors President Shirley J. Newsome has been appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to the Community Development Commission (CDC). The CDC reviews and recommends action to the City Council on the establishment of new Tax Increment Financing districts (TIF), Redevelopment Area designations, and appointment of members to Community Conservation Councils.

Rev. Dr. Richard L. Tolliver, SECC Board member was also appointed by Mayor Emanuel to the Chicago Low-Income Housing Trust Fund Board. Chicago Low-Income Housing Trust Fund assists residents living in poverty by providing secure, safe, sound and affordable housing.
