On Sunday August 27th, South East Chicago Commission (SECC) attended a Sunflower Dedication and Memorial Garden tribute event for Shirley J. Newsome at the Oakland Museum and Garden.
Oakland Museum and Garden, a former Neighborhood Enhancement Grant program awardee, hosted the celebration of life event with attendance from Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle and 4th Ward Alderman Lamont Robinson.
SECC was in full representation with staff Diane, Raymonde, Ticina and Board Members Bernita, Liz, Phaedra and Kyle.
