South East Chicago Commission Announces Ticina Williams as New Program Manager
The Board of Directors of the South East Chicago Commission (SECC) are delighted to announce the appointment of Ticina Williams as the new Program Manager. With her extensive entrepreneurial background and deep ties to the community, Williams brings a wealth of experience and a passionate commitment to overseeing Community Development and SECC’s Arts and Culture Capital Lab (ACCL).
Williams’ primary focus includes promoting access to capital for creative entrepreneurs and wealth building strategies for artists. She also has a special interest in developing sustainable solutions to provide greater access to fresh and nutritious food options for the residents of greater mid-south Chicago and surrounding communities. Williams has excelled as a Certified Market Manager of the Hyde Park Farmers Market, which contributed heavily in support of her promotion.
Over the past five years, she has been a valuable contributor to SECC special projects and engagements, including the annual fundraising gala, “A Night at the Theatre,” Hyde Park’s 4th on 53rd Parade, Small Business Saturday, and the Woodlawn Community Summit.
A graduate of Chicago State University with a degree in Business Administration/Management, Williams has shown her dedication to the community through her years of volunteer work at SECC. Her passion for resident-led community development is evident in her commitment to making a positive impact in the mid-south region. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she is the founder of Creativiti Custom Designs and Events, a full-service event planning, consulting, and party supply company located in Woodlawn.
